Shyra “Tech” Ambrosia 

Well, here they are.

One was shipped in a carboard sleeve, inside a bubble mailer. (yes, really)  

The other was shipped in a reasonably-sized box wrapped in a boatload of bubble wrap.  

Will either of them work? Will they make cool noises? Will either one fail dramatically in a puff of smoke? Who knows! I'll find out tomorrow when they've had a chance to thaw!

@shyra TIL 5.25" HDDs were made til the late 90s, just look at those big bois! I hope they work, and if not, fail in a spectacular way 😅

@likesoldmacs These drives would make perfect candidates for replacing the top cover with acrylic  

They must look awesome when operating.

@shyra to be fair, Quantum Bigfoot drives were the least reliable drives in an age of very unreliable HDDs. i can't imagine shipping would have made them any worse than they already were :)
