Imagine if the NY Times take from the beginning had been:

Biden’s lawyers find classified documents on his premises!
By immediately notifying the authorities, returning the documents, and inviting further searches, they create a political problem for Trump: Highlighting the contrast between the right and the wrong way to treat the discovery of classified documents. Trump’s indictment for obstruction now seems inevitable.

Then: Pence, too, avoids obstructing justice …

@JamesGleick I've seen very little discussion of level of classification of the documents held by Biden and TFG.

Everything turned over by Biden has been referred to as "classified" which is the lowest level of secrecy.

Trump withheld some Top Secret documents, which is a much bigger deal. Not sure why so little is being made of this.

@JamesGleick But the NYT is structurally incapable of doing that. Their commitment to "both sides" means that they must find the Democrats and the Republicans guilty of an equal number of offenses. The more extreme GOP crimes become, the more Dem crimes must be found to even things up and demonstrate their "fairness".

I could hear all the groans and eye rolling in that newsroom all the way in California when they discovered the docs at Pence’s home. Hell they already has “garage gate” all lined up.

@JamesGleick NYT gives comfort to Nice Polite Republicans, who claim not to be R’s but vote for the “person” not the party, who buy their products and shop with their advertisers. Folks who are “above politics” and make six figures and beyond. They (the co. and customers) live for the wonderful things money buys. They pretend to be above it all, and make light fun of icky libs who “care.” This is who they are and always have been.

The media is desperate for a Biden scandal.

They want a … but her emails 2.0.

Hillary’s decision to use a private email server wasn’t the best choice, but it wasn’t illegal. That’s why she was never charged.

Ivanna used a private email, and no one batted an eye. The press didn’t pursue it.

Biden is not a criminal. He’s done tremendous work for the American people. He’s not riddled with the immorality that is Donald Trump. The press was addicted to the scandal.

While the media plotted against Biden, the republicans in the House were plotting to crash the economy.

@JamesGleick Imagine if all media had been 'GOP nazis still occupying our capitol and launching maga terror cells at Americans'. Getting insurrectionists out of office is the first step to removing maga/nazi filth from our democracy.
