Somewhere in this house, a fire alarm is intermittently chirping to indicate it needs a new 9v battery, a sound seemingly only audible at 4am. Let battle commence.
@joelmorris we had this for WEEKS once. Drove us out of our minds. Turned out to be the carbon monoxide detector that we'd forgotten was in the airing cupboard

@joelmorris We have one that chirped in the early hours. Turns out it wasn’t pining for a new battery, it was the cold air affecting the sensor - which was why it didn’t happen during the day.
@joelmorris The little blighters can stop chirping when the house warms up as the battery loses energy when cold. That adds to the joy when trying to locate them. Good luck!
