Nice… dog gets through the fence (again) and while I’m there to get him, next door neighbour lets slip that our landlord is apparently looking to sell the place.

“Oh, he didn’t mention it to us.”

“He’s looking privately.”

“That’s nice.”

Fucking landlords and this whole fucking system, really.

Lost count how many times we’ve had to move in the past few years alone. Just when you’re getting productive, some dickhead decides he wants to sell or move in himself (what happened last time).

FFS!

How much money would you need to buy the place yourself? This sucks.
@Erik Way more than we have. For some reason it seems that working for the common good for almost the past decade isn’t entirely compatible with being able to afford a house in Ireland :)

The concept of renting a place also loses all meaning when you consider what your landlord most likely does is take a loan from the bank to buy your house in the first place, then use your rent to pay off the loan.

So, essentially, you pay for the house, but in the end your landlord “owns” it.

Shame.
