Nice… dog gets through the fence (again) and while I’m there to get him, next door neighbour lets slip that our landlord is apparently looking to sell the place.

“Oh, he didn’t mention it to us.”

“He’s looking privately.”

“That’s nice.”

Fucking landlords and this whole fucking system, really.

Lost count how many times we’ve had to move in the past few years alone. Just when you’re getting productive, some dickhead decides he wants to sell or move in himself (what happened last time).

@ShaneB Not in Ireland. You have very few rights. At most, they just have to give you as much notice as is legally required. Since we’ve been here for over a year now, that’s six months notice for us.

@aral ah sorry, didn’t realize (so probably should have shut up!). Six months is something… you’d get one after lease expires in America. Sorry for the hassle.

I also just looked it up and it seems they passed a law to ban evictions between Jan-Mar because it’s so hard to find a place here. So we’re likely looking at September soonest if (a) he actually is looking to sell (just wrote to him to ask) and (b) if he finds someone.
