We do not have to live like this. No other country on the planet does.

@rbreich Yes we do. Until people stop voting for Republicans. That’s all.
@rosenstand @rbreich regardless of who you vote for the government always gets in… I think you’ll find that who people vote for would make absolutely no difference whatsoever.
@arfab @rbreich So you think that a Congress and Senate with a Blue majority and no filibuster wouldn't mean better and stricter gun laws?
@rosenstand @rbreich do you think that criminals have respect for the law?
@arfab @rbreich If you have respect for the law you’re not a criminal. Is this the level you want to debate the extreme gun violence in America on?
@rosenstand @rbreich I was trying to highlight the faulty logic in your initial statement. To answer this question - someone who has reached a point in life where they feel their only option is the shoot you a school and commit suicide isn’t really concerned with calling themselves a law-abiding citizen. In most cases they won’t waste time going and buying a gun - there are already plenty around for them to steal/use/whatever.
@rosenstand @rbreich if voting were the solution then you’re suggesting that there would be reform in both the laws surrounding sales and ownership of weapons. So who do you disarm first, the public or the cops? You can’t do one without the other as criminals will always ensure they can protect themselves against the cops. Then we can discuss how this probably contradicts the second amendment.
@arfab @rbreich Looks like the laws are working in other countries, right?
@rosenstand @rbreich sure, but you can’t simply change the way people want to live by bringing in new laws. They won’t vote for that. I could be wrong,but I’m quite sure that it’s more complex than left vs right. Are there politicians that have stated their willing to make these changes? Educate me if I’m mistaken.

@arfab @rbreich Yes - the majority of Democrats are for universal background checks etc.

But you completely ignore the fact that EVERY other "civilised" country have gun laws that dramatically reduces the amount of gun violence.

You are basically quitting - I disagree with that and I relate to factualities like numbers.

A stricter gun law will reduce gun violence - like the temporary ban on "assault riffles" did here in the US until it was removed. That's all.

@rosenstand @arfab @rbreich

Gun laws take away the right to defend yourself. The criminals will still keep the guns, and are the ones who are pushing for such laws.

Is it so hard to believe that every school shooting is designed to push for total control and the disarmament of the American people?
Please lookup the history of the FBI and CIA on this. MKUltra and many others have been declassified. They even made a movie of it recently!

@rosenstand @arfab @rbreich

The evidence us overwhelming. Its all out in the open for those who care enough to even look.
