I’ve been doing this media gig for 25 years and this round of layoffs has me feeling very anxious. I want to say it’s about the general economy and “looming” recession, but honestly, I feel like it’s 2008 and the C-suite just hasn’t learned a single lesson and has no idea how to relate to its audience and deliver products to consumers. We have to do better at delivering products our consumers will engage with. We’re doomed otherwise, regardless of what Wall Street says.
