I think it's important to follow a few people where you never have any idea what the fuck they're talking about but it seems interesting

@prehensile I follow some coder/ tech types who post about coding/ tech things that might as well just be saying, "And you don't understand this, you don't know what this is, and here's another thing you have no idea about, what's this? You wouldn't know would you?"

But there's obviously enthusiasm and a deep love of what they're doing so it doesn't really matter.

For example, I just bookmarked a post sharing an article on Bronze Age Islanders and whether they might have fished or not.

It sounds like the most boring thing to read I can imagine, but you know what, the person who posted it thought it was worth reading and so I will in a bit.

My horizons have broadened somewhat since being on here. It's so cool to be exposed to people and their eclectic thoughts, passions, and interests.

@Air_Quotes_Comedian the trick w/ the Nerd Posts, is to know that some of it? it's just not going to be "for" you. the _good_ tech folks, though, will translate the important parts into laymans terms, so you'll see things like "cool new software does a thing!" and "security update, please patch your phones!". (I try to do this, but can't say I'm _good_ at it ;) )
