I’ve had to get a new phone. I could cry. Every time I’m promised nothing will change. Every time they lie. #technology #luddite
In fact, I think getting a new phone is like making the decision to have another baby - you forget how painful the last one was!
@CatherineRussell2 I can relate. Four children and 4 phones. First one a Nokia that was hard to read the screen. I love technology. I like the challengers. I am my friends IT go to person.
@CatherineRussell2 I agree, I normally put it off until I have to change it.
@CatherineRussell2 New cell phones: devices created with the sole purpose of training our patience...
@CatherineRussell2 David uses a VERY old Nokia of mine - text & calls only - & steadfastly refuses to update so of course I have to do all the app things for him on mine... Currently trying to get him to take it to the PO to return 2 Amazon parcels with scan codes. By the time I've demonstrated 4 times, it's quicker to go myself! Good luck!
@CatherineRussell2 I can't compare it to that as I've not had kids, but it is a grieving process as I have texts on mine from friends who have now since died. I've kept one old phone as although it doesn't work, I know there is text in it from a friend. Silly I know but it's like losing them all over again.
@J3nn1ferJ @CatherineRussell2 Can you bring up the texts? If so either take a screen shot or take a photo with your new phone. Just a suggestion. You have probably already done that. Hope it helps.
@CatherineRussell2 never having a baby l can’t comment, however l could never do without my phone.
@CatherineRussell2 I am having to get a new one also and I'm dreading it majorly. Technology can be our nest friend and our most hated enemy all at the same time
@CatherineRussell2
I got a new one and have hesitated to switch everything over. I'm even switching carrier. Maybe this week.
@CatherineRussell2 And how’s it going with the microwawe oven???
@sonne_lene it’s still banished to “The Secret Cupboard” (which, by the way, isn’t even in the kitchen) and I haven’t so much as touched it.
@CatherineRussell2 Up dated mine recently got a oppo find mainly cause it has good camera on it. hehehe
@CatherineRussell2 hope you didn’t lose anything from the old one. Mine is ancient and only just worked out how to download the pictures to my computer! Hope you get used to it soon.

@CatherineRussell2 Oh dear. I think the ppl who say nothing will change don’t realize that it’s not enough that the operating system is the same while a lot of the details change, icons move etc.

Personally, I rely on muscle memory a lot and something as simple as icons changing places throws me off for two weeks.

@CatherineRussell2 oh, I know, im just travelling to sort out a transition from an old samsung to a new samsung for a friend!
@CatherineRussell2
I’ve just bought a new phone that ‘sings and dances’ at the moment just making a call is a problem! I binned my old Doro which just made calls and texts……come back all is forgiven! I seem to spend most of my day on Google asking ‘How to ……..’ why don’t you get written instruction manuals these days😤
@CatherineRussell2 I know how you feel, I had to get new one, I didn't want to, but I had to.
@CatherineRussell2 just got myself a new iPhone and love it. Plus they’re so easy to use.
@CatherineRussell2 Aww, I’m sorry! Setting them up takes centuries. I think I’m pretty used to the whole iPhone ethos, but there’s always something that throws me.
@tracytwilson Taken me two days of tantrums and tears!
@CatherineRussell2 Oh, that sounds awful. I hope it lasts you several years!
@CatherineRussell2 @tracytwilson does the iphone have a Smart Switch app? Samsung does and it makes for no tantrums or tears. Just saying.
@CatherineRussell2 please go for it. If anything like me mess with it until little by little it makes sense. If not throw it through the window and shout F##K it!! 😁👍
@CatherineRussell2 what phone have you changed too? when l last changed l stupidly went for Samsung, hated it sent back next day and went back to
Iphone the iphone 13 pro.
@Aprilsmum @CatherineRussell2 I m not a fan of iphones, but so many friends use them. I love my Sony compacts as I hate the way all phones have got bigger, it reminds me of the old brick phones.

@Pathpink

@Aprilsmum @CatherineRussell2

Some phones are so large it looks like some are carrying a big screen television around in their pockets. 😆

@Aprilsmum @CatherineRussell2 isn't it funny how we only like certain ones. Mine is a Samsung. I had an Apple ipad and the screen died to early. To operate, I find Samsung friendlier. Anything Apple is so expensive over here.
