Seems we might have an answer for why, on the eve of the 2016 election, someone at the FBI lied to the NYTimes about the links the FBI saw between Trump and Russia.

Because the then-head of counterintelligence for FBI in NY was just indicted for money laundering and helping Russian oligarchs evade sanctions.

I also thought of reports at the time that it was NY FBI agents that pressured FBI Director Comey to disclose the finding of HRC emails on a laptop related to an HRC aide. No new info was found but if anything tanked HRC's election chances, it was that late disclosure.

@Silversalty @maxkennerly This derailed Hillary’s chances for the Presidency. Putin wanted her to lose. Did Mcgonical have something to do with that?
