Still learning the characters. I do sessions in fifteen minute chucks with at least a five minute break between. I’ll often key back a word that’s given me trouble just to try and wrap my mind around it. #LearningMorseCode
@nn3x practice practice practice is the key. Don't be afraid to jump on the air even though you may not feel ready. Good operators will work with you no matter your recieving speed.
@N4JAW yep, I’m doing about fourth five minutes of practice every day. Still only about half way through the characters though, but when I do get them all I’ll take the on the air plunge! Looking ahead at my course I’m guessing mid to late February, which is also when my birthday is. So, new goal, my first CW QSO on or before my birthday!
@ai7pr I’m using the trainer on https://morsecode.world with CWops beginner course. There’s a QSO trainer, word list trainer, and several other modes that you might find helpful. There are also keyboard shortcuts, so I can repeat the code several times or move to the next word or phrase without looking up at the screen, except to verify that I copied correctly.

@nn3x Ah, yeah, I used that before the domain changed. I'm not sure if the word list training existed back then or if I wasn't ready for it. Thanks, this'll add a relieving bit of variety to my training.
