Since #Netflix streams only in 720p on #Google Chrome, the only way to get 4K streaming on a Windows machine is by using the Netflix App or by using #Microsoft Edge!

Since the app itself is a mess, Microsoft Edge has become my primary Netflix player on Windows...

@danielalbu Wow, an actual use case for Edge! Is it that Edge implements some DRM media playback that Chrome doesn't?

@scatterlight Yes, Edge has PlayReady DRM implemented.
Chrome is still my default browser and I use Edge exclusively for Netflix...

@danielalbu Ah, so it's actually an MS tech. That makes sense. I wondered if it was the same system that was used in Silverlight, which used to be required to watch Netflix in a browser at all IIRC, and indeed it is. Interesting.
