Your regular reminder that "died suddenly" is still not a thing. People aren't dying suddenly any different than before (from drug overdoses, undiagnosed heart problems, etc.).
Instead, people see patterns where there are none. It's the basis of astrology.

It has nothing to with actual fatalities, though. It’s about playing dominoes at lunch, and needing to finish when lunch ends.

@ErrataRob Sure, but that's rather reductive. Given there's an ongoing pandemic known to have heart (and other) complications, and people are dying at a higher rate than before, and we know what the sorry state of american healthcare is for most people, maybe there is an actual pattern.

@ErrataRob All cause mortality is about 40% higher for unvaccinated than it is for the vaccinated. And a lot of the things people are dying suddenly of are things Covid-19 causes, like heart attacks and strokes. I think there's a pattern here.

@Thad @ErrataRob there seems to be a segment of the anti-vaxxer crowd that have convinced themselves that a large number of athletes, in particular tennis players, are falling over dead after being vaccinated against Covid. The tennis connection is mostly because Djokovich refuses the vaccine and thus is a hero to them.
