While other big tech CEOs are cutting head count, Tim Cook is cutting his pay.

No crocodile tears about “taking full responsibility” either.

@carnage4life @carnage4life im hesitant to heap too much praise on Tim Cook here.
Taking a “pay cut” from $99 million to “only” $49 million is like standing naked on the subway and putting on a sock, and claiming you’ve put some clothes on.
@deejayh67 @carnage4life well, he did this. Other haven't. The reverse is true for layoffs (so far).
@yury_mol @carnage4life
Yes, that’s true. But for me it’s important to highlight the obscene disparities in wealth and “earnings” of these CEOs while there is so much hardship and poverty all around us. Tim Cook is better than the others, sure. But no crying or parade for him while he pulls in $49 mill.
@carnage4life What's interesting about this is the fact that it is a large sum of money that is unlikely to change Tim Cook's standard of living whereas the people being laid off... Well that can be life altering, very negatively life altering. If we could just remove greed from the equation there are many options to explore.
@carnage4life don’t thank him until you also talk about the massive pay raise he got the year before. He’s no hero.
@carnage4life some of the replies to your post show that, no matter what Tim Cook does, someone would want him to do more. How much more would be enough, you ask? Not getting paid at all, I figure.
Tim Cook plans to donate $800m fortune to charity before he dies

In an interview with Fortune magazine, Cook says his money will go to social causes, as well as his nephew’s education

@carnage4life Still taking home a good $48m more than anyone can reasonably justify having "earned" for doing a white-collar job for a year, though.
@carnage4life that $50m difference is “only” equivalent to the year salary for a couple hundred employees though, not the 10,000+ that other companies are laying off. So while I agree the other companies should’ve done the same, 95%+ of layoffs probably would’ve still happened.
@carnage4life I would like it if the shareholders of other companies started to demand the same of their bloated and overpaid management.
@carnage4life ONLY 49 million?! Oh the humanity! How will he find the strength to go on?
@carnage4life He should cut it down to $100k.

@carnage4life It’s worth looking up Job’s quotes about firing people and how to get “out” of a financially problematic situation.

Hint, you build new products, you don’t fire people.

@carnage4life number of people ridiculing this saying “still 49million?” “He got a massive pay-rise last year, this is expected”
…is everything wrong with the internet. How do these people survive while there’s literally nothing makes them happy or they agree with?
@carnage4life Tim Cook takes pay cut… to about Satya Nadella’s pay 👀. (Good on Apple for not laying folks off though!)

@carnage4life

"I take full responsibility" has got me laughing. Why do they do this?
