StefanHmmmm upgrade my digital ocean ubuntu server or just blow it away and spin up a new one.
I think I realized my server was doing way less then it used to.

@MeidasGmaOG luckily this instance is hosted by real system admins at https://cloudplane.org and I just pay for it. But I am a developer and do mess around on my own time.

Mike LiVolsi@stefan I'm finding installation is not a walk in the park. Ningx instead of Apache, postgres instead of MySQL ..and then add in Ruby. Ughh
@mlivolsi yeah I would never try and run mastodon.
@mlivolsi I mostly use my server for Twitter bots. Before they all got banned.
@stefan I finally got it running. I'm not really sure why I'm doing this *lol*. I've got registrations turned off. Back in the late 90's I ran a chat site with 50K users and it was a beast to moderate and ate up all my time, so I still have PTSD over that experience. *ha*. right now , it's pretty zippy.. not bad for a $200 server and $100 worth of ssd.
