In this week's #linux and #opensource news video, we have the Linux Foundation building an open source version of the #metaverse, the beta for @kde Plasma 5.27, the last version of KDE 5, and Stable Diffusion AI being sued for using copyrighted images without consent, plus some interesting results following @gnome telemetry data:

The Linux Experiment Podcasts
@thelinuxEXP great podcast again. It even made me fill in the Ananconda questionnaire ;-)
@peppe Nice!
@thelinuxEXP this installer is indeed a relic from the 1950's or so, so i felt I had to contribute to change all that unused white-space 😂
@thelinuxEXP interestingly Mozilla hubs project doesn't seem to be part of this OMF

At last! So boring Saturday 'til now!

Personally, I'd rather the Linux Foundation put those resources and focus toward supporting the FEDIverse, rather than the metaverse. But hey, you do you...

@tilvids @thelinuxEXP A metaverse could be much better if built on the fediverse instead of Facebook, too...

I really liked that podcast version. I can woke on things while listening and the extended parts makes it feel more personal and less of a quick run to the end. I think both formats are good for different people.

I'm not sure that crowd fact checking would be good. It would be better then one organization deciding what is true. This alternative looks dystopian. It is just that with some subjects, the public seams really actively wrong. In science for example. People think science research bring facts but those facts changes and people's believes don't follow. I can also see how it could create a mass bullying platform against LGBT or else. I'm still into experimenting with it.
@jacket @kde @gnome Yeah, there is no great solution for this. The good solution would be for people to stop making shit up and inventing various conspiracies based on their own unverified opinions, but, well, that’s not going to happen…
@thelinuxEXP @kde @gnome Bruh, Gnome needs to put back system tray, such basic everyday functionality doesn't need an extension
@thelinuxEXP What if The Linux Foundation added GNU to the OMF acronym? But you know, set a new trend, and put it at the end: OMFG! 🙄
