@OldBrushNewPaper I have to confess I only have a couple guesses where you live and I know many factors go into "feeling cold" than temperature and wind.
I think it's around zero C here today and it doesn't feel that bad (but I live somewhere where -16 C is not that uncommon in winter) but the most important thing is how you feel. Use the yarn that feels right to you in knitting.
I hope you at least get to be cozy today
@lapis Zero is definitely below what we "should" have just now, but not outrageously so.
But it's otherwise been mild - too mild - which leave me nervous about what the summer will bring.
I'm glad I let myself be convinced - that dark blue (for -5 to 0) looks so nice against the several days running of turquoise (0 to +5), and the larger section of light lime green (+5 to 10)
Thanks for the kind hope - cozy is definitely part of today's recipe!
@OldBrushNewPaper oh okay. thank you.
Yeah, that's a valid worry. other than a winter storm (mostly ice, not snow) and an outrageously bad cold snap (A bit above -40 C) in December, Winter's been.... not that wintery.
I hate climate change. 😩
Don't feel obligated today, but I would love to see an in-progress shot of your work
@lapis I'll be getting "a round tuit" - I really do want to, sometime.
Although I'll be posting it at my mastodon.art alt, and then boosting it from my home account (this one).
I forget - had you seen my rainbow scarf for my Christmas guest?
Attached: 1 image FINISHED - in time for giving to our Christmas guest! While I started off with a pattern (thanks to a good friend who spotted it in a knitting magazine), I made some major adjustments. Primarily by choosing a different lace/stitch pattern for each color. I want to do this again - but after finding (or creating) more directly referential motifs. Because #StonewallWasARiot! I'd wanted to include a handbag, beer bottles, coins, and a reference to "three items of women's clothing." #knitting
@lapis PS and thank you for the kind words - I was happy, and joyful, to give it to my friend and see her so happy with it.
(She even said she snuggled up to it while sleeping - after reassuring me that this did NOT MEAN that it was too cold there. Our cold snap hadn't started yet.)
