Ice Cubes is probably the most exciting SwiftUI app for me yet. A full, rich, feed based app solely in SwiftUI is something I honestly wasn’t sure was possible. The scroll performance is a tiny bit rough, but such a great 1.0 overall.
@christianselig And works pretty well on MacOS!
@christianselig was pleasantly surprised with it so far. And as someone who doesn't know any SwiftUI yet, it being open source is exciting.
@christianselig I second this motion. I’m looking forward to the update where timeline thumbnails are small and to the right. I catch myself modeling my timeline UI’s for Apollo and Ice Cubes to Tweetbot.
@christianselig yeah, scroll performance kinda ruins it for me. If they can improve it, then it seems to be a pretty good app.
@christianselig Still can’t believe it’s SwiftUI! That’s super impressive.
@christianselig I don’t like that it does not store my previous position. And yes scrolling also drops frames for me and makes the scrollbar jump a lot in size it’s crazy 😂
@christianselig I really love it’s open sourced. I’ve learned about managing complexity of large SwiftUI apps because of it
@christianselig Scared me a little bit to see DMs mixed with the timeline. Not sure if that’s an Ice Cubes choice or just a platform thing.
@bkbkbk @christianselig I believe that’s just a Mastodon thing
@christianselig woah, I didn't even realize it's fully SwiftUI, aside from the occasional scroll stutter. Impressive.
@christianselig I’m having such a great time using it. Really excited to compare it to Ivory when that releases.
@christianselig I was completely shocked about it being SwiftUI
