It is clear that #twitter is now 4chan since @elonmusk
took over.
#Scientists & scientifically minded people will not stay on this platform, nor should they.
If only media people could kick their addiction too, Twitter would be dead already, instead of dragging it out for #clicks
The #miscalculation from rightwing culture warriors is always that they think they can coerce #intellectuals and #scientists into submission by owning their forums.
But no matter where the scientists go, the media and decision-makers have to follow.
Twitter will not survive as this anti-science forum where #antivaxxers get #boosted and amplified and actual #scientists #harassed and doxxed.
About 50% of the hundreds of scientists I used to follow left twitter, either for good or for other platforms.
More will follow. The writing is on the wall.
Some will #dutifully remain and give push back, like on other platforms, but anybody who does not treat twitter as a #hostile information space now is missing the forest for the trees.
Don't support twitter, fight it or leave it.
Organize to regulate it or break it up.
There is no reason why #billionaires should be allowed to own shared #information spaces.
I'd like to see #democratic citizens push back (e.g EU digital services act #DSA), and Musk needs to face consequences (& be taxed ffs!)
