This week we made Dan do all the homework and he gives us his book reports on Pennyworth, Stargirl, and Black Adam. We follow that up with a dollop of superhero sweep.

Dan's Report Card (Biff! 166)

We’re back after a holiday break to chat about what Dan has been watching. On his list are Pennyworth colon The Origin Of The Butler To The Batman, Stargirl Season 3, and Black Adam.

The Incomparable
@biffcast @dmoren @Moltz i always wondered what you had against titans, i mean if you’ll watch legends you’ll watch anything (one might think) — i couldn’t watch any of the arrowverse for long because of the ridiculously low production values and all the rest of the things too numerous to mention - but at least titans has good production values and takes itself seriously. Also i personally prefer fewer more involved arcs.
@yitz @biffcast @dmoren I loved Legends (S3 and on) precisely because it *didn't* take itself seriously. I only watched the first episode of Titans but found it overly brooding. I didn't hate it, I kind of liked their interpretation of Raven, it just wasn't for me. And, yeah, the Arrowverse really devolved.
@Moltz @biffcast @dmoren i think maybe i checked out after the first season or two.. so perhaps that's why it left a bad taste. I think there's room for good media with good production values that knows how to laugh at itself.. Willow did a good job of that.. I liked She-Hulk up until the ending where I just felt cheated that they didn't do something smarter.
@yitz @dmoren @Moltz This is a great question. We sort of just have a vibe of what we dig and don’t. I’ve seen all of Titans and I do like aspects of it. Biff is a bit of a Venn diagram of our interests and we mostly want to be lighthearted for the show. If you don’t mind we may crib this Q for a Q&A show sometime.
