I’ve always liked woodworking and a lot of home repair stuff, having grown up doing a lot of that kind of work, and starting my career working in construction. And there’s a ton of great content on these topics on YouTube, etc. these days. But I always cringe when looking any deeper at the creators behind the content because they’re overwhelmingly from a narrow cultural slice and very frequently casually toss off dismissal or even hate towards people I love & care about.
@anildash Good dude woodworking dude alert: (Doesn't help with the "narrow cultural slice," obviously, but Nick Offerman being really into woodworking has always been kind of neat https://offermanwoodshop.com/

@parkermolloy @anildash +1 to Nick Offerman - I’ve listened to “Paddle Your Own Canoe” and “Gumption” while working in the shop (never did get around to building that canoe). A shame he doesn’t have an instructional YouTube channel.

@parkermolloy @anildash I humbly submit my buddy David Picciuto from https://makesomething.tv

Again, narrow slice, but generally a good human.
