The media will play both-sidesism and draw a moral equivalency between the two, so as "not to seem biased".
It is as though Trump ran someone over in his car, backed up and ran them over again, and then sped off in a hit and run. Biden hit someone with his car, stopped and gave them aid, reported the accident to the police, gave his insurance number and contact info.
