Republicans have nothing of substance to talk about, so they're pretending that President Biden is going to break down your door and haul away your gas stove. Maybe he's hooking up a trailer to his Corvette?

Look at all of these states that have made sure that individual cities can't pass climate-friendly legislation to prevent gas stoves in new construction. Not taking anything away – if you want to move into an apartment with a gas range, you pick an apartment built before 2019 or 2027.

(The graphic is from 2022. Only the states that are red on this map have passed laws preventing gas bans. Michigan's legislation didn't pass and former Pennsylvania Gov. Wolf vetoed that state's bill.)

I like gas cooking too. I shrugged when I found the right condo and it was electric, not gas. Now that I've learned about the climate and health issues of gas, I'm glad I have electric.
