It's rare, but sometimes sequels can outshine a first in a series. Once you get to #3, though, that's not often the case.

@amigalove I never tried the Amiga versions of the SSI games, but enjoyed the krynn series on C64.

Many of these games were converted to Easyflash last year, so may revisit them without all the disk swapping.

@amigalove @glc You do miss out on a couple of the very last of the gold box games if you just stick to C64 versions though, including the 3rd game in the Krynn series. The tail end of the SSI run were only released on DOS, Amiga, and Mac.
@amigalove pool of Radiance had a much underappreciated port to NES/Famicom. It tries to go the Wizardry route, with music and original art. It's a bit sluggish, but otherwise a really fun adaptation (I personally enjoy it more than computer versions because battles are smaller)
