Noel Berryhuh so discord updates on non-ubuntu linux just got really janky
kateulator 🐦⬛@noelfb according to the arch wiki discord page, adding "SKIP_HOST_UPDATE": true to ~/.config/discord/settings.json bypasses this. worked for me on fedora :) don't know the potential side effects of this though, so ymmv 🐧
Tonkku@kateulator @noelfb you shouldn't do this if you haven't installed discord from a package manager. If you downloaded the deb or tar from the website in the first place, you'll just end up never updating.
Catelyn@kateulator @noelfb this is the only good solution, it just causes discord to not throw a hissy fit about it not being up to date and instead allows you to wait for your package maintainers to update it
which is really how it should work by default, imo
