@steveirons here is a response from The Saturday Paper,

Out of touch
I wept while reading Marcia Langton’s “Fighting for a Voice” (January 7-13). Her essay is written with great profundity and yet, in one sentence, is the message of clarity: “It is the duty of Australians who want to build a nation that recognises 65,000 years of human history … to vote ‘Yes’.” How are there still people reading the Murdoch press and watching Sky News as it spews its diatribe of lies? The Voice to Parliament must be embraced for its imperative to bind us together as one nation. Australians must reject the lies and obfuscations of those determined to keep us apart, determined to see this referendum fail, for they are completely out of touch with the realities and hopes of our nation.

The tears of 65,000 years are nowhere as noisy as the opposition’s flood of misinformation.

@seasiders2
A good start would involve quietly burning the #MurdochRags in a bucket out back before ppl get a squiz at the #memes they put out.

Or at least use them as carbon for the local #compost bin.

Did you know #RupertMurdoch is featured in the encrypted 80GB file that #JulianAssange put out on the web. If Assange is ever killed and unable to publish we can expect the widely torrented file to be unencrypted, and Murdoch's past exposed.

@dsfgs @seasiders2 A good response. Seasiders. For me DSFGS, I've actually witnessed it all before. I was living in London when #RupertMurdoch came into town under #MargaretThatcher & they used that as a tool to smash up the trade union movement using Murdoch's paper as a trojan horse. People like me went in our thousands to try to protect the rights of unionists to organise and of the union to protect basic rights & pay. I even got beaten up by a well-organised police violence manoeuvre. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2011/jul/27/rupert-murdoch-wapping-25-years
Rupert Murdoch and the battle of Wapping: 25 years on

A new exhibition about the media mogul's war with the print unions in 1986 throws up some fascinating historical parallels

@dsfgs @seasiders2 It's obvious that that's what needs to happen now. The unions needed to organise when #TurnbullMalcolm and #MrKRudd got together to organise against #RupertMurdoch. It could have been the beginning of the end for Murdoch in Australia. As it's turned out we see #Albo offering #Rudd his rightful place in the seat of power and privilege hoping this will shut him up on #Murdoch. We are at this point unclear on how it will progress. If anyone has any influence in the #ACTU we should find a way of re-igniting the traditions of the Wapping dispute in Australia. #itstime
