Shelenn Ayres@molly0xfff While not your fault by any means, lumping everything into a Web3 catchall term is a bit of a misnomer thanks to crooked tech bros. By their definition, Web3 is a blockchain based decentralized Internet that includes cryptocurrencies and NFTs. In reality, Web3 was a concept for the next stage to decentralize Web2 where blockchain tech was pitched but cryptocurrencies and NFTs were tangential.
Oh well that ship has sailed with them destroying the concept and using NFT concepts to further pervert the legitimate term Metaverse (includes all social 3D platforms client, web, and gaming) into you get a Metaverse, we get a Metaverse, everybody gets a Metaverse facilitated by the most corrupt tech bros of all - Suckerberg and Musk. There is only one Metaverse and there is only one Web. No one is going to let Web3 be implemented in a way that destroys the web. I applaud the law enforcement crackdowns but too many have gotten away with theft because governments are always behind the tech curve. We need systemic approaches to systemic problems - with the first being strong independent regulatory oversight that runs itself and has transparency.
