There is no labor shortage for jobs that pay workers fairly. Isn’t it funny how that works?
@rbreich I don't think that's true at all, and agree with you on most things. You keep posting this type of comment, but there are severe shortages in very well-paying jobs such as construction, health care, social services, administration, tech, etc.

@Minnesnowta @rbreich

No matter what job profile you need, pay 10 million dollars a month, and you will find it.

Most of those shortages are caused by paying workers half (or less) of what they should be paid. Clients don't want to pay enough to pay such salaries? Sooner or later, they will, if they really need the work done.

@jgg @rbreich They're working somewhere, aren't they? Do you think workers from the industries I listed left to go bag groceries for $11 an hour?

@Minnesnowta @rbreich

If there is not enough trained people, they will come from abroad. Even if there are not enough people abroad (or your government manages to not let them come), people will retrain, so the shortage never will last more than the time needed to retrain, 8 years at most.

@jgg @rbreich You're all over the place, and have absolutely no idea of what you're talking about.
