Yesterday was the last day for #AlaskaAirlines #Q400 turboprop service at #BellinghamInternationalAirport, a route which is now switching over to #Embraer 175 jets. I'm excited about the upgrade to more fuel-efficient #E175 regional jets, but I'm sure soon enough I'll be nostalgic for the days of flying those noisy old #Bombardier prop planes with their cramped overhead storage. Onward and upward for #BellinghamWA! https://twitter.com/FlyBLI/status/1612161315254173696 #AlaskaAir #BLI #FlyBLI #SeaTac
Bellingham Airport on Twitter

“Today marks the end of an era as BLI is scheduled to receive its last Q-400 aircraft with @AlaskaAir. They are upgrading to E175 jets. The Q400 has operated at BLI since 1991 with daily service to SEA. BLI thanks @AlaskaAir for the continued partnership to serve our community!”

@alan I’ll miss those uncomfortable Bombardiers, honestly.
@nathan @alan they were charming - Horizon used to fly them from Seattle to Bozeman with a stop in Butte to let passengers on and off, with free beer along the way
@xbsharp @alan the free regional microbrews and wines were pretty great. I wonder how many hops I’ve taken in the Q500 or Q2000 — it has to be a lot.
@alan Does this mean we now get to carry on our carry-ons? I'll miss the iconic sound of the turboprops, but won't miss the 20 minutes standing around on the tarmac waiting for the a-la-cart trolley.
@adam Yeah, I think so. I was on an E175 from SEA to BLI last week and there was no "a la carte cart" and the overhead bins could fit a standard-sized carry on.
