This came in! I adored #Andor. I’ve always loved #starwars - I’ve even spoken about #nasa at the Celebration convention one year, & women in Star Wars another year.

I collect Star Wars stuff, particularly Princess Leia. As a little girl, she was my hero. 😊

Anyway this came in, & here’s a little writeup of just *some* of the things NASA & Star Wars have in common…

There’s an exoplanet called Tatooine! 😲

NASA and Star Wars: The Connections Are Strong in This One

NASA astronauts “use the force” every time they launch … from a certain point of view. We have real-world droids and ion engines. We’ve seen dual-sun planets like Tatooine and a moon that eerily resembles the Death Star.

Here are a couple of pics (yes they are potato quality, they were taken on a phone 10 years ago) from #starwars Celebration VI in Orlando.

The first pic is from our #nasa panel (I’m all the way on the left before the podium). We had to stop letting people in because the fire marshal said any more would violate the fire code.

The second pic is of a white board where a friend of mine did the math:

14 seats on the left side + 13 on the right X 30 rows = 810 seats that our panel had filled!!

@absolutspacegrl that’s amazing Holly! 👏
