NBC News: "Within hours of being sworn in as the new governor of Arkansas, Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed an executive order Tuesday banning the term "Latinx" from official use in the state government.

It is one of the first, if not the first, executive order of its kind, Tabitha Bonilla, an associate professor of human development and social policy at Northwestern University, told NBC News."

@joshsternberg it’s stupid to ban a word, however.. I am pro immigrant rights, speak Spanish, tutor in the Latino community and help with ppl getting citizenship . I find The use of the word Latinx arrogant and culturally pretty damn insensitive. I live in a rural community with many agricultural workers one of my friends said to me when I mentioned the word. “I am not x Latin, I am Latina.”
