Fake pockets in women’s slacks are the pantriarchy. Thank you.

@OhNoSheTwitnt
I've never understood this.

I do believe you, mind you... but I don't understand.

@bmalsuj because it "ruins the line of the outfit" a.k.a. it's more important that the male gaze not be interrupted by the outline of a cellphone in a pocket than it is that a woman actually has a place to put her cellphone

Appreciate the explanation as I wasn't tracking myself. I have a lot more respect and interest in individuals (both male and female) who dress functionally - in other words, KEEP THE POCKETS. They are extremely useful. :)

@klaasl so you lack respect for people who choose more femme presentation?
@bmalsuj @OhNoSheTwitnt
@Tattie @klaasl @bmalsuj @OhNoSheTwitnt What makes some thing femme and who gets to decide?
@Tattie @klaasl @bmalsuj @OhNoSheTwitnt Is it more "femme" to be frivolous? Sheesh.
@NycAuntie @klaasl I would say that describing someone's outfit as "frivolous" is almost always rooted in femmephobia

You're just looking to start a fight over nothing. BLOCKED!

@Tattie @bmalsuj @OhNoSheTwitnt I'll admit I do have a bias towards function over fashion. I'm aware of this bias so do work to understand if present and tamp down. I live in Seattle where the majority of people seem to opt for jeans and fleece which is likely partly to blame :)
