Sooooooo.

I was messing with #ChatGPT and thought I'd check its #AI creative capabilities as well as its understanding of #dnd.

I am disturbed by the high quality of the results.

See for yourself, O Obsolete Human.

@caerdwyn It may reproduce DnD marketing language selling the adventure to a prospective buyer much better than it can convince you it actually has a concrete understanding of the Shadow King's motivation or why such powerful relics are tied to the fate of a kingdom so insignificant it has to wait for seven strangers to solve their civil war/succession crisis. #ChatGPT #LLM #dnd
@Arpie4Math I know. AI doesn’t “understand” anything. But looking strictly at words on paper, and having had it generate a bunch of these, the ML has sussed out the structure well enough. Yes, it’s boilerplate, but the boilerplate is of proper structure.
@caerdwyn And it maintains enough state so you could have it update (some) details — like specify that the relics are actually the jewels of the Shadow King's lost crown which gave him "mysterious powers" or that they combine to form legal proof that the Shadow King is the rightful king -- and it should update it, just like the diffusion-based art generators can make incremental changes.
