Corporate media’s overarching message is that it’s “time to move on,” and radicals holding on to precautions are impeding economic recovery.
One of the quotes highlighted in the piece is mine on the connections between anti-masking and white supremacy. This isn't mere speculation, as the New Yorker piece dishonestly frames it. It's based on a long history of studies on how health inequities play out.
Here's my original thread, which backs up the claims that white supremacy plays a role in the opposition to masking.

While there's a lot of research that shows how racism plays a major role in health disparities, I also feel that it's important to say that the people who are impacted have every right to speak up about their lived experiences. We need to listen, and do better. Not dismiss them.
