@meditate hello! I'm here now.
I'm meditating as part of my polytheist practice, and currently contemplating how I can better align my meditation practice with my values around social justice.

@distel I'm not technically born into Buddhism. My cultural background is part Chinese but I got interested in Buddhism when I was 18 and I took both eastern and western religious studies courses in university. Western didn't really keep my attention but all the Eastern religious stuff was absolutely fascinating. I started practicing meditation then and have been more and less consistent with it ever since. There is a local non-denominational meditation group that I've practiced with for several years, and even been on retreat with them and taken Boddhisattva vows.
I'm non-denominational. I self-study all forms of Buddhism. I like to point people to the principles of One-Practice Samadhi:

I also recommend the Great Compassion Mantra.
If you check out my Linktree I have a Discord server where you can connect with a handful of other Buddhists who hang out there. (It's a pretty quiet server but folks tend to come out of hiding with helpful insights if you need to connect to Sangha.)
this is encouraging. in my city district there is a non-denominational Buddhist group too, I heard about them because they ordered bread from our bakery sometimes. I feel encouraged to try to join their meditation group now. and I'm going to read that link too.
