"Grant Shapps has denied doctoring a picture on his Twitter feed to remove former Prime Minister Boris Johnson," reports the BBC.

Here's the image on Shapps' now-deleted tweet compared to the original photo.

@adambienkov so he's denying that he doctored it, not that it was doctored? is he splitting semantic hairs? or is it "an intern did it" situation? either way, good lord, just have some dignity and integrity (rare, i know)...
@patrick_h_lauke @adambienkov
Yes, exactly. It's not a bad job. I doubt he actually did it, some poor graphic artist in the PR section will have had that job land on their desk and is now shitting themselves that it's in the media 😳
@MostlyTato @patrick_h_lauke @adambienkov not a bad job? Johnson’s elbow is still there! :)
@chthonicionic @MostlyTato @patrick_h_lauke @adambienkov and how difficult can it be to fill in a white space with a hard straight edge? Curious smudging on the logo too. Not done by a human professional, more like auto removal software.
@andy_d look, the intern only had a cracked copy of Photoshop 6 to hand, and the rubber stamp tool was just so hard to use...
@patrick_h_lauke I could do better with Windows Paint 😝
@andy_d @chthonicionic @patrick_h_lauke @adambienkov
Oh dear. That was a quick look on my phone earlier. I've just zoomed in. I take it back. That's a shocking job. There is indeed a rogue elbow and cloning staggering in a line. That is not done by a professional.
