If you toot at me like this, you'll get a mute or likely even just a block.

It's not a competition, I'm only *one* person who has a lot of things to cover. I don't care if I'm "late" on something, I'm not rushing just because others feel they need to.

News is often a zero-numbers game if you're late you lose out on advert revenue. GamingOnLinux has no adverts, and I'm not in it for the most clicks. I just want to provide interesting content for people who appreciate that. Apologies if I don't hit inflated expectations of being "first" on things to some people.
@gamingonlinux You're pretty much the only one I follow on here for #SteamDeck news so I'll take it as it comes thank you :)
@gamingonlinux
So many times "being first"also means "rushing things" and I'd rather read content that's well thought of over "Hot now!" -type drivel.
@gamingonlinux I also love how the first 2 paragraphs of your articles are not just there to be skipped. Can't say the same on many other publications.
@gamingonlinux yeah, being the first is not useful. I don't follow "medias" like you to have instant posts.
@gamingonlinux As someone who wanted at one time to get into journalism: You're an inspiration :) No-nonsense, no ads, no rush and interesting is the way.
@gamingonlinux I actively appreciate this, and it's why I keep you in my feeds both RSS and here.
@gamingonlinux you definitely provide do, I discovered a lot of interesting games thanks to your posts, despite that I'm gaming on Windows (-:
@gamingonlinux I'd rather have interesting news than having a continuous flow of mostly uninteresting news. Keep the current flow, this is why I follow GoL. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
@gamingonlinux That's so stupid, why would someone be like this....

@gamingonlinux I wish someone would run up on me like that!

I don't deal in leaks because leaks could turn out false and I'm not going to be on the hook for that with my community.

Besides, there's always someone hearing it for the first time.

@gamingonlinux Plus, we don't need to reproduce here the toxic behaviors that were common on twitter.

Hell, we don't need to reproduce those behaviors anywhere.

@gamingonlinux Out of interest, how many hours/week do you put into GamingOnLinux - is it a full-time occupation?

I've known about the site for years, but given the amount of stuff on there I always assumed there was a larger team behind it. It's genuinely impressive that you're able to produce that much content, consistently, on your own!

@wogan @gamingonlinux pretty much a one Liam show ;)

tho big enough nowadays that news are submitted en mass and the news hunting is probably more of a news verifying by now.

Still very impressive.

I'd appreciate a hat tip here and there tho

Anyway, we all know what WRITING IN UPPER CASE MEANS!11eleven ๐Ÿ™ƒ

@bekopharm @wogan GOL is just me and it is indeed a full time job.

I have a few helpers but obviously they're busy with their own jobs and lives.

@gamingonlinux For every troll, there are a hundred sane people who appreciate what you're doing. Ignore the idiots and carry on.
@gamingonlinux keep doing what you're doing. There are plenty of people that appreciate your hard work. It's never worth feeding trolls
@gamingonlinux Quality over quantity and if it takes a moment longer who cares why are people so heccin stupid these days?
@gamingonlinux well if they talked about it first why didn't we hear about it. They must be terrible
@gamingonlinux Oh for fuck's sake, some people just _have_ to be assholes, don't they? Ignore them. I very much appreciate your service. So thank you very much!
@gamingonlinux
Whomever this person is, what a ridiculous thing to come out of their proverbial mouth. Muting is definitely the best way to go! Keep up the amazing work you do!
@gamingonlinux
The only thing you're late on, is using that block button. ๐Ÿ˜‰
@gamingonlinux looks like you're getting more and more followers. Eventually people like that will show up, a block or a mute sounds like a perfectly understandable response to me.
@gamingonlinux Some people just don't know how to act behind a keyboard
@gamingonlinux Do your thing your way. The responses here show many others benefit from it as it is. Also, always good to remember for mental health: on the Internet, no one can tell they're hearing from a 10 year old. ๐Ÿ˜„
@gamingonlinux Just ignore such a clown.
