#StandingStoneSunday There is some controversy regarding the concentric circles and magical spirals in Fairy Glen on the #IsleOfSky in #Scotland. In modernity, they have largely been considered a nuisance brought in by superstitious tourists, yet no one knows exactly why or when the circles started appearing.
Mark Theascetic@suswatibasu: Fun puzzle! Maybe there was a large stone wheel used to grind something, with an axil extending to the center. They would have to keep changing the radius to prevent excessive tracking. Also there could have been some oxen tied to radiating pole for pushing a grinding wheel. This could have happened a long time again and then the tracks got filled in somehow. I wish I could go there and study it.
