I’m curious to know why people who are posting here continue posting at Birdchan as well. Mastodon becomes more useful as people are persuaded to drop Twitter and come over here instead.
Here's the problem. By continuing to be active on Twitter, you're giving people there less incentive to move here. As a result, the value of Mastodon is sputtering along at a lower level than it should be. And those of us who have moved here start to think about going back to Birdchan.
@dankennedy_nu I'm convinced that anyone with follower numbers on Twiter in 5 or 6 digits is understandingly reluctant to leave such social capital behind, especially knowing that the user-base on Mastodon is still much too small for them to expect rebuilding a comparable klout here.
