L O L G O PI get why Kevin McCarthy wants to be Speaker. I just don't get why he wants to be Kevin McCarthy.

@lolgop I can't imagine waking up every day knowing I have to be Kevin McCarthy, that sounds miserable.
Kansas Grant@lolgop Pointed joke aside, my theory is that Kevin McCarthy wants to be "Speaker McCarthy" for precisely the reason that being "Kevin McCarthy" is nothing to be proud of.
Those of us whose self-worth is justified by the ordinary joys of life such as family, friends, community, job, hobbies, etc. need to attempt to fill an empty soul with an impressive title plus a little wooden hammer.
