Just secured a brand new FT-818. Allegedly the production has been stopped due to a lack on parts.
Now looking for a CW filter, which appears out of production too.

@pa1gsj Yeah, the CW filter is the main problem. I guess it is the same as for the '817. I tried to find those, but no luck.
It does look like a local amateur may have one, we shall see.

@oz9qv when I bought my ft 817, just when it came out, I ordered it with the cw filter. Don't want to cannibalize the 817 though.
I found that inrad still sells their mechanical filters, but for a premium. Further, thinking about adapting an xtal filter...

No reason to cannibalize a perfectly working radio
