Steve HermanBy my math, McCarthy needs every remaining vote to become speaker, including Gaetz and Gosar who haven't voted yet.
Gosar has voted for McCarthy in the past two rounds and is likely to do so again. If Getz votes for someone else, doesn't vote or votes present, then it goes to the 15th round.
There are also appeals to Boebert (sitting next to Gaetz) to change her vote from present to McCarthy.

Something's up. Republicans changing their votes NOT to adjourn. Looks like we'll go to a 15th round.
Now there are indications Gaetz will vote for McCarthy in the 15th round. Speculation includes he was promised a committee chair or Trump convinced him to support McCarthy.

noahm@w7voa I wonder, as crazy as it sounds, if the Democrats would have done well to vote for McCarthy. They’d give him the Speakership, but without him being beholden to Gaetz and co. The MAGA wing might have been left marginalized at least a little longer.
