Electricity prices in Germany hovered around €110/MWh, falling significantly from last year's peaks, helped by lower prices on the commodity markets and an expected decline in consumption due to the warmer weather. Government energy price brakes have also provided significant relief. Germany's government has announced support for electricity, gas, and heating prices for private households and companies in 2023, with the new measures taking effect at the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, a report from the comparison portal Verivox showed energy costs for private households dropped in the first quarter of 2023 for the first time in two years, with electricity and fuel decreasing by an average of 18%. Electricity prices in Europe's largest economy hit an all-time high of €700/MWh last August as the region met the worst energy crisis in decades and concerns about Russian gas supplies mounted. Actually, coal is very much needed for the energy security of Germany thanks to Energiewende^1 - in 2021 it was the largest single source of electricity (they haven’t published 2022, but likely the same).

Note that the whole galaxy was dependent on the spice melange and many wars were fought over its control.
Like the Harkonnens which cared most for their profits and little for human life.

Saying Germany doesn't need it, but not explaining what the drivers are, and who actually benefits on the other side is an important part of changing the narrative from just confirmation bias on either side of the line. RWE by itself is one actor; whats the bigger system at work?
