Heyo, friends! I maintain a list of space opera novels by cisgender women, trans, and non-binary authors. Suggest works via the link, and share with everyone who might find it of use!

You can find the list right here:

@shaunduke thank you so much for this!!! The resource I’ve wanted for so long!
@ouro @shaunduke ‘a big ship at the edge of the universe’ is a very promising title
@shaunduke Wow, impressive effort. If someone is looking for a related project, this would be even nicer as a list on https://joinbookwyrm.org (or something similar) so that I could more easily find out which ones I want to read.
@shaunduke hey @clacksee this looks up your alley
@miss_s_b @shaunduke
Cheers. Next time I’m sitting at my desk I’ll fill it in.
@shaunduke Hello ! wow, very interesting, great work. A question : why Martha Wells' Murder Bot series isnt in your list ? Is it because it's not Space Opera ? Thanks,
@clauderioux that's correct. Still great books though
@shaunduke @carlaxo thanks for this list. I hope to be on it some day
@shaunduke Awesome, bookmarking for later 👍

@shaunduke @marthawells

This is the kind of post worth bookmarking in mastodon Thanks.

@shaunduke - hey, Shaun, you don't by any chance keep a similar list of LGBTQ+ authors, do you...?
@ChazBrenchley there is one for trans writers on this sheet, but I haven't done a breakdown for all of the letters. That's a good idea though.

@shaunduke By "suggest works" do you mean "Request edit access"? Form is set as View only.

I spotted a few books where 1st in a series is listed but not number 2. I'd also recommend Shieldrunner Pirates trilogy by R E Stearns.

Shieldrunner Pirates Series by R.E. Stearns

Barbary Station (Shieldrunner Pirates, #1), Mutiny at Vesta (Shieldrunner Pirates, #2), and Gravity of a Distant Sun (Shieldrunner Pirates #3)

@Kay on the first sheet, there is a link to a suggestion form.
@shaunduke Thanks. Too much work for a quick link so maybe later.

@shaunduke
Edit to say I found the other worksheets and you totally have this already. :)

I'm fairly sure Joan D. Vinge's "The Snow Queen" fits your space opera scope, and I _loved_ it when it was newly out. Hugo winner; Nebula nominee.

(Joan D. Vinge is one of the writers who I'm astounded seems to have fallen from public memory and canon. It's time I re-read, huh?)
