About a year ago I bought a bunch of mics and set them up around my drum set. My goal was to set it up like a studio environment where I could feed the mics along with music from an iPad in via a mixer so I could play along.

With my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones I just couldn’t dial in the mix right. Too much sound was coming in through the headphones.

I recently picked up a pair of closed back Beyerdynamics and it’s a world of difference! This setup is exactly what I was going for.
