You know, there are a lot of things that I love about having a career in the arts. However, the endless need to hustle is not one of them. Just when you feel like you've got things under control a freelance gig evaporates, a new expense materializes, etc. And here you are just wanting to keep doing the thing that made you happy but now you've got to figure out yet another way to monetize it, Or Else. I loathe commodifying art, which is about sharing. And yet you must eat and pay bills.
@AbandonedAmerica I know the feeling of somehow living by the whim of the gods...but that's how life is, the illusion of control can only makes us unhappy. I'm not saying we must not pursue our dreams but enough is enough and if the goal is too high it's only going to make you feel miserable for missing the hit. What I mean is to reevaluate your goals, change or drop them, life is dynamic so also be it.
@crespo yeah, true, but also I do like having a place to live and that's the bottom of this stress for me 😕
@AbandonedAmerica I won't argue it. We all need a place and a person to call home.
@crespo yep. My main goal, as it's been since Covid really, is just to manage to keep a roof over my head and take care of my wife and furry BFFs, everything else is gravy, as they say.
