Quote: “Vinland,” after the wild grapes that grew there. Quote
"Vin" in old Norwegian language means something like pastures, fields well suited for agriculture and so on.
Name on the map more like it: Markland.

@berrefjord Thanks! That's interesting on the translation of "Vinland". I've been hearing the grape reference for years, but if you're right, a lot of people have it wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.
