Seventh-round nominations for House speaker: McCarthy (D-CA), Jeffries (D-NY) and Donalds (R-FL).
In seventh round voting, McCarthy again fallsshort of the threshold to become speaker. Only drama remaining is how many votes will Donalds continue to receive from rebel Republicans.

Seventh round of voting for House speaker:

Jeffries (D) - 212
McCarthy (R) - 201
Donalds (R) - 19
Trump - 1
(One Republican member voted 'present')

An eighth round is coming up, according to several GOP members of the House.
We're on to the eighth round nominations. If any of the nominees change or the roll call begins to go in a different direction than previous rounds I'll let you know.
@w7voa If these 20 “rebels” in the house really want to screw over their party, maybe they should just vote for Jeffries.
@cheffe @w7voa or McCarthy just talk to Democrats and get a deal. I mean, this is embarrassing and a nonfunctional House...
@EgbertS @w7voa ego drives everything vs being productive for their constituents, unfortunately.
@cheffe @w7voa indeed... No 11 on the way, groundhog day already... and 1 vote on the 5th Jan for the orange guy, unbelievable
@EgbertS @w7voa it is pretty insane. If they want to screw him over they should just vote for Jeffries.
