A few months ago, I was walking around campus trying to gather my thoughts before teaching. It had been an especially bad day full of anti-trans harassment and threats, and I was exhausted and feeling hopeless. As I was walking and reading the signs on the buildings, I realized that the SSW is right next to the #PoliticalScience and #History departments. Today I came across this photo of Roslyn and Howard Zinn, and recognized the background immediately— right next to the school of #SocialWork.

I don't feel hopeful much these days, but I've been listening to his lectures every night because whenever I think of Howard Zinn, I think of this quote:
