Every month we get reporting on prices.

We get reporting on jobs.

We get reporting on wages.

You know what we don’t get? Reporting on corporate profits.

Corporate America wants to keep it this way.

Workers get blamed for inflation. Corporations get cover for their greed.

@rbreich ALSO - why do we hear about CEO's but not board members. I'd like to know who is on the board of Southwest Air and hold them accountable for the failure to invest in IT, apparent misuse of bailout money, etc.
@rbreich Could you remind what the date is for the Revolution? I need to get in my calendar. Hopefully it’s peaceful. Billionaires are overrated.
@rbreich Careful what you ask for, Professor. We have such short term thinking now with quarterly reporting. Ugh, can you imagine how bad it will get if done monthly?
@rbreich So in a nutshell, you think the system is corrupt...
@rbreich We need some profiteering controls.

@rbreich

This #anagram sums things up.

Corporate Greed Drives Inflation

Evident Oil, Gas Earn Record Profit

@rbreich HMM…THEY ARE GETTING AWAY WITH ECONOMIC MURDER WHILE LINING THE POCKETS OF FOLXS WE ARE SENDING TO CONGRESS TO HELP US. 🤦🏾‍♀️
@rbreich This is just brilliant!
@rbreich that would be a newsletter I'd pay for.

@rbreich

You can't talk about wages causing inflation without also mentioning prices and profits. The Fed doesn't understand this — or is unwilling to recognize the connection between prices, profits and inflation.

@rbreich We get reporting on corporate profits continuously, every quarter for every publicly owned company. But only in the business press. You want wider reporting? Do it then. Don’t tell us what to do, show us how to do it.
@rbreich All of the major news outlets are big corporations owned by the same oligarchs who own everything else. They're not going to report on corporate greed because they are one of the manifestations of corporate greed.
